There once was an age when gaming required a large pc with a huge cumbersome monitor. Gone are those days, nowadays gaming is enjoyed on light carry-along slim laptops with state of the art specifications.

Flaunting a reliable NVidia GeForce GTX970M graphics card and the stunning 14 inch QHD 3200 by 1800 resolution screen coupled with its comfortably light weight, slim black matte body, the new Razer succeeds at being the ultimate gamers machine.

Performance in Games

CPU

The Razer Blade 2016 has a 6th generation Intel core i7-4720HQ CPU that complements the Nvidia GeForce card. Together these make for a very fast, high-performance gaming machine.

GPU

Running an Nvidia GeForce Gtx 970m graphics card ensures smooth running even when playing some of the heaviest games on the market.

RAM

For swift functionality the CPU is supported by 16 GB of ram and 6 GB of vram from NVidia.

A good gaming laptop requires a great battery life. With its extremely clear display Razer blade does well, clocking 5 hours 41 minutes of continuous gaming.

Features

Screen

The all new Razer Blade 2016 comes with a 14-inch QHD+ Touchscreen display plus 3200 by 1800 resolution screen that churns out an impressive 5.76 million pixels. This also includes the indium gallium zinc oxide display technology that ensures the clearest and most vivid image quality. With a 350-nit brightness given by the on-board led lights, the visibility are top notch.

The touchscreen feature is responsive and accurate, an excellent function for both fun and work.

Connection and Ports

For connectivity, there are two USB 3.0 ports in between a power in port and a 3.5 mm earpiece jack port on the left side. On the right side you get another usb 3.0 port HDMI and a thunderbolt3 port.

Storage

This laptop comes with 256 GB SSD on the stock model that can be upgraded to the users’ wishes.

Audio

The audio output from its speakers that flank the keyboard is satisfactory and usable. The sound is quite clear which is nice for a gaming laptop.

QUALITY & DESIGN

The all new Razer Blade 2016 has a full aluminum matte black body that feels great to touch. The body feels great to touch and carry around and is protective to scratches to a certain degree. There is a green snake like logo at the back that adds to the beauty of this 0.7inch thick masterpiece.

Noise:

There is very minimal noise during gaming on this machine except when the fans are running. This creates little noise which is negligible.

Temperature:

With its great speeds and display the machine produces some heat during intense gaming. This is however handled by the several fans on it improving the experience.

Weight:

At 4.2 pounds weight, the blade is very light to carry around and it fits into just any backpack very well. The whole laptop body is 14 inches wide and 0.7 inches thick.

My Thoughts

A very light portable package of high end gaming specifications is what I can say the Razer Blade 2016 is. It works efficiently and flawlessly and can be tagged along anywhere. The screen could be a bit bigger though.
